Lab Review

Your Labs Are “Normal.” So Why Do You Feel Terrible?

A PharmD-led lab review that translates your bloodwork into the conversation your doctor doesn’t have time for.

If any of this sounds familiar…

You’re Not Imagining It.

Most people come to me with the same story. The labs came back. The provider said “everything looks fine.” But you don’t feel fine. You’re tired. You’re carrying weight that won’t move. Your brain is foggy. And nobody has explained why your numbers and your body are telling two different stories.

“Within range” isn’t the same as optimal.

Reference ranges are built around population averages, many of which include people who are actively becoming sick. Optimal ranges, especially for metabolic markers like fasting insulin, are tighter and more revealing.

Your provider has 7 minutes. Your labs deserve more.

A standard follow-up isn’t long enough to walk through what each marker means, how they relate to one another, and what your specific pattern is telling you about your metabolism.

Searching for answers made it more confusing.

You tried to make sense of your results and found conflicting explanations, scattered opinions, and sales-driven advice. Now you have more questions than when you started.

The most important markers often weren’t ordered.

Fasting insulin. ApoB. hs-CRP. These are some of the earliest and most actionable metabolic indicators, and they’re frequently missing from a standard panel.

You want a second set of eyes from someone who understands both the medications and the metabolism.

A pharmacist’s lens is unique: we see how prescriptions, supplements, nutrient depletions, and lab values interact every day.

The Clarity Journey

From scattered numbers to a pattern you can finally understand.

This is not a generic lab printout summary. It is a clinically trained second look at how your markers relate to each other, what they may be signaling, and which next questions are worth bringing to your provider.

The goal is not to overwhelm you with more data. The goal is to help you see the story your body is already trying to tell.

01

First, we look beyond the word “normal.”

A value can sit inside the reference range and still hint that your metabolism is under stress. Lyndsay reviews your results through both clinical context and optimal-function context.

02

Then, we connect the markers.

Glucose, insulin, A1c, lipids, liver enzymes, inflammation, thyroid markers, nutrients, and medications do not exist in isolation. The pattern matters more than any single number.

03

Next, we translate what it means.

You receive plain-language education that explains why a marker matters, what your result may suggest, and how it fits into the bigger metabolic picture.

04

Finally, you leave with better questions.

Your written review helps you advocate for yourself more confidently, whether that means asking about additional labs, discussing medications, or focusing your lifestyle strategy.

05

You are not handed more noise. You are handed clarity.

The review is designed to feel calm, thorough, and useful: a bridge between the labs in your portal and the next informed step in your health journey.

Why a Pharmacist?

I’m Dr. Lyndsay Carlson, a Doctor of Pharmacy and Board-Certified Ambulatory Care Pharmacist with 15+ years of clinical experience in collaborative practice and chronic disease management.

Pharmacists live at the intersection of medications, lab values, and metabolism. We see every day how prescriptions interact with nutrient status, how lab markers shift in response to lifestyle changes, and how often the most actionable findings are sitting right there on a panel, uninterpreted.

My approach is rooted in identifying the why behind your symptoms, not just managing numbers on a chart. Your body has an extraordinary capacity to heal when given the right inputs and the right information. This service is one step toward giving you both.

Any recent bloodwork, typically within the last 6 months. A comprehensive metabolic panel, lipid panel, HbA1c, fasting insulin, thyroid panel, and inflammation markers (hs-CRP) are ideal. Send what you have. If specific additional labs would meaningfully improve the review, Lyndsay will let you know.

You can still purchase the review and Lyndsay can suggest which labs to request from your provider. Many customers do this to make sure they’re asking for the right panel before paying for testing.

One option Lyndsay recommends is Function Health, a membership-based lab testing platform that offers comprehensive panels covering metabolic health, cardiovascular risk, inflammation, hormones, and nutrient status, without the insurance complications of a traditional lab order. This service is best suited for educational lab interpretation. If you’re managing complex or acute conditions, please continue working closely with your healthcare team. The lab review can complement that care but does not replace it.

Your Labs Are a Window. Let’s Read Them Well.

Your body was designed with an extraordinary capacity to heal. Your lab results are a window into how that design is functioning right now, and reading them clearly is the first step toward working with your body, not against it.
